What the Daily Journey PDF includes
The Daily Journey PDF is a single-page (or two-page for a rich day) document that gives parents a snapshot of their child's day. It includes:
- Header, school logo, school name, child's name and class, date
- Attendance, arrival time, status (Present/Late), checkout time and collector's name
- Meals, what the child ate and how much (breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack)
- Naps (early years only), sleep start time, wake time, and any notes
- Activities, a list of activities from the daily report, with brief descriptions
- Mood & Behaviour, the teacher's note on the child's mood and behaviour for the day
- Wellness notes, any medications administered, symptoms noted, or wellness observations
- Photos, up to 6 photos from the day (shown in a grid)
- Teacher message, a brief personal note from the teacher to the parent
- Footer, "Any questions? Contact your school at [email/phone]"

Generating the Daily Journey PDF
- Go to the student's profile for the day. You can also generate from the Daily Reports view.
- Click Generate Daily Journey PDF.
- The PDF is compiled in a few seconds. A preview appears in the browser.
- Review it quickly, check that the photos are the right ones and the meal amounts look correct.
- Click Download to save to your device, or Send to Parent to deliver it directly.
Sending to parents
There are two ways to send the Daily Journey PDF to a parent:
- In-app delivery, click Send to Parent on the PDF preview. The PDF is attached to the parent's portal under their child's Daily Reports tab. The parent receives an in-app and SMS/WhatsApp notification.
- Bulk send to whole class, go to Creche Daily Reports from the sidebar and click Send All via WhatsApp. All reports for the day are sent to each child's primary parent simultaneously. This is the most efficient end-of-day workflow.
Build this into your closing routine. The best time to generate and send Daily Journey PDFs is in the 15 minutes after the last child leaves. Photos are fresh, meal notes are complete, and parents are most likely to read it in the evening. A consistent routine builds parent trust quickly.
The Daily Journey PDF is different from the Learning Journal PDF. The Daily Journey is a one-day snapshot. The Learning Journal PDF (article 2.10) is a term or year-long portfolio of observations, assessments, and milestones. Both are valuable; both serve different purposes.
