New School Admin, 90 minutes

You are setting up the school for the first time, or picking up from a previous admin who left. Read these articles in order before the first day of term.

Class Teacher (Early Years), 45 minutes

You teach a nursery or reception class and need to understand what you can do in School Vault day-to-day.

  2. Taking attendance: manual, QR, and bulk methods (6 min)
  3. Writing and publishing a daily report (5 min)
  4. Recording an observation on a student (5 min)
  5. Milestones: tracking development across four domains (5 min)

  7. Logging medications and wellness entries (5 min)
  8. Incident reporting: severity levels and parent notification (6 min)
  9. Check-out and pickup authorisation workflow (6 min)

Total: ~45 minutes. Also read the articles for your specific curriculum framework (EYFS, Creche checklist, IEYC, etc.) in Track 2.

Class Teacher (Primary), 45 minutes

You teach a primary class and will use School Vault for attendance, daily reports, marks, and homework.

  4. Mark entry: entering CA and exam scores for a whole class (6 min)
  5. Subject analytics: class performance data (5 min)

  7. Homework: creating assignments and tracking submissions (6 min)
  8. Messaging parents: individual and bulk (6 min)

Total: ~44 minutes.

Bursar, 30 minutes

You manage fees, payments, and financial reporting. You do not need to read the curriculum or attendance articles unless you are curious.

  1. Setting up fee templates and term billing (8 min)
  2. Bulk fee allocation to classes (5 min)
  3. Dedicated Virtual Accounts (DVA) (6 min)
  4. Paystack integration: activating, webhooks, and reconciliation (8 min)
  5. Financial overview and analytics (5 min)

Total: ~32 minutes.

Parent / Guardian, 15 minutes

You have just received an invitation from your child's school. Here is what to read first.
